THE PRECISION FIT: TYKE-IES HEADGEAR SIZING GUIDE
Share
THE FOUNDATION OF DEFENSE
In combat sports, your headgear is your last line of defense. A "near-fit" is a failure. For headgear to deliver the impact absorption it was engineered for, it must remain immobile under fire.
At Tyke-ies, we don't just design for comfort; we design for Total Protection. Proper fit ensures your vision remains unobstructed and your focus stays on the strike—not your gear.
STEP 1: THE TACTICAL MEASUREMENT
To find your Tyke-ies size, you need a precise measurement of your head’s circumference.
- The Tool: Use a flexible tailor’s tape measure.
- The Placement: Wrap the tape around the widest part of your head—approximately one inch above your eyebrows, passing just above the ears.
- The Reading: Keep the tape level. Ensure it is snug against the skin but not tight enough to compress.
STEP 2: TYKE-IES OFFICIAL SIZING CHART
Compare your measurement to our engineering standards below. If you fall between two sizes, we recommend sizing down for a more secure, professional "lock-in" fit.

STEP 3: THE ZERO-SHIFT TEST
Once your gear arrives, perform these three checks to ensure it meets the Tyke-ies Standard:
- The Peripheral Check: You should have a clear line of sight. If the cheek protectors or forehead padding obstruct your vision, the unit is too large.
- The Movement Test: Mimic head movement and slips. The headgear should move with your skull, not slide across your skin.
- The Strap Tension: Use the adjustable fasteners to "lock" the gear in. It should feel like a natural extension of your body, providing a 360-degree secure seal.
ENGINEERED FOR THE GRIND
Every piece of Tyke-ies headgear is crafted with high-density padding that conforms to your anatomy over time. Combined with our Signature DX PU Leather, you get a piece of equipment that breathes, resists moisture, and maintains its structural integrity through the most grueling sparring sessions.

Don't leave your safety to chance. Measure twice, strike once.
